How Do Solar Screens Work?
Did you ever wonder why despite leaving the windows open it still feels hot inside the room? The outside air that flows into your home space manages to pull in the heat that comes from the UV rays of the sun. It doesn’t help either if you have glass window panes. It acts just like a magnifying glass. The moment the sun’s rays hits the glass, the heat is intensified into the room. Now that’s why it feels like you are in an oven even when the windows are left open.
That’s why you need to install solar screens on your windows. These are screens that are specially made for the purpose of deflecting the sun’s rays. Its not totally full proof because it can only manage to avert around 70 percent of the sun’s rays although it lessens the glare of the sun from heating up your windows.
These screens are made of fiberglass covered with vinyl yarn that is woven in a way that it can protect you from the sun but allows air to flow in freely. Most of the heat from the sun is either reflected back, absorbed or are carried away by the convective air currents that is created by this warm screen.
